Both being mothers we know first hand how important it is to stay healthy both pre and postnatally. Whilst it is a tough task when you're often feeling so sick, the importance of keeping fit and healthy for both you and your unborn child should not be underestimated.
We are only too aware of complications that can arise during pregnancy and the need to be on the cautious side but rest assured we are here to help you breeze through your pregnancy and get fit for the amazing experience of childbirth. All going well you will be ready to recommence an exercise routine 4-6 weeks after giving birth to your beautiful bundle of joy. Depending on any complications that may have arisen during pregnancy and/or childbirth you may need a doctors clearance prior to recommencing your exercise routine. We are only too happy to talk to you about this. Apart from the psychological benefits from staying fit and healthy, exercise will give you a greater ability to handle the discomforts of pregnancy and labour, you will find it easier to get back into shape and regain that 'pre-baby body' and most of all enjoy a happier and healthier pregnancy! If you want a ‘core on the ball’ workout in Sydney, then this course of 10 classes is for you.
This is an exciting NEW course that is designed to help you get the most from your fitball workouts. In this class you will learn how to activate and train the problematic areas of the core stabilizers that support the spine and learn to work the body in a functional way utilising the fit ball. This course is for just about anyone. It is a must for people wanting to improve postural imbalances, bad back sufferers, post natal women and sports people wanting to improve their core strength and sports performance. What makes the fit ball so effective is that it brings muscles into play that normal weight training never will. It increases what is called “core-strength”. Core strength is the combined strength of all the muscles from your hips to your arm pits. An increase in core strength will lead to increases in virtually all compound strength movements. Also, increased core strength dramatically reduces chance of injuries. Why train the Core? The core is a vital area for maintaining functional strength and good posture. Many injuries, especially associated with the back, are caused by weakness in the muscles that support the spine, often referred to as poor core stability. Many things can cause these weaknesses including child birth, sedentary lifestyles, poor posture and incorrect training regimes. One of the best ways to address these problems is to train with a fit ball. *Techniques are taught to turn off the muscles that interfere with the operation of core stabilisation. *You will learn how to ‘switch on your core’ and keep it activated during exercise. *Have fun and change your cardiovascular training component to be fit ball based. This Monday evening session is designed for everybody from runners to those who consider themselves not to be runners. Discover the secrets to running, learn how to active core muscles, learn breathing techniques, discover how to conserve energy for those longer runs and basic muscle activation and muscle recruitment patterns. The first few sessions will be held at Centennial Park and we will progress back to Coogee incorporating hills etc. Now there’s no excuse for not joining in our team in the City to Surf this year, you will be more than prepared! |
