One of the reasons I became a Personal Trainer is because when I was pregnant I put on 23 kilos. We all know that morning sickness is common when you are pregnant but I had it morning, noon and night. I went from someone going to the gym five days a week to someone who couldn't make it upstairs to bed when she got home from work.
I did no exercise at all for the first four monhts due to morning sickness. When I finally went back to the gym four months pregnant with my first child, I wanted to make sure I was exercising safely. I asked the gym supervisors what I could and could not do. They weren't sure and I wasn't going to risk my unborn child's health, instead I sacrificed my own. I did absolutely no exercise for entire pregnancy! I have been through post natal depression and as woman and mother I understand the ups and downs that mums go through. However, I can tell you that exercise and becoming healthy again is what saved me. |
